This journal is friends-only. If you have any interest in reading my entries, please comment to this post and I'll friend you right away. I'm not doing this to keep my life private; I just want to know who reads this.
And BY THE WAY, if wandered over here because you're interesting in reading my fiction, what you're looking for is
For several reasons, I will not be updating my livejournal while I am a member of the Roseway, as I will be staying away from the internet. I can pretend it is because I don't know what internet access I'll have or because I don't want to waste time on the internet while I should be having a fun time abroad, but let's be honest. It's mainly because I don't want to be spoiled on who the Final Cylon is or how awesome Heroes volume 4 is.
If you want to live vicariously though me in the Caribbean, please feel welcome to add my Roseway twitter feed, TackJive. I plan to update it often with my camera phone.
If you need to be in contact with me, there's a chance I'll still be sporadically checking my e-mail, wordplaysam@gmail.com. To everyone, have a great few months. I'll check in in May. See ya!
**There might be a couple of pre-Virgin Islands posts in the next few days before I leave, but I wanted to start tying everything up a little bit before I took off. The reason for the new twitter, BTdub, is that my whole family wants regular updates, and so I decided creating a new twitter was better than giving them access to the main one and censoring it.
Thesis is done, yay. However...I got in a car accident today!! It really sucked. :( Don't worry, no one was hurt and the damage to both cars was minor. I was driving down the road past the mall, she was turning right on the red light, and she failed to yield and ran into the Beast's passenger side.
When we got out of our cars, she yelled at me because she thought that I had a red light. I am 99.9% sure that I had a green, because
a)wtf, I'd notice if I had a red (and the car in front of me hadn't stopped, so at the very least I would have had a yellow)
and
b)I drive down that road more or less every day, and those lights are all synched. If you get a green light as you get off of the highway (which I did), the next five lights will all be clear.
Still, it has introduced doubt into my mind. I don't have a crystal clear memory one way or the other. And what if I really did run a red light without noticing it? That's really, really scary. Like, wtf self?
However, she warmed up to me a lot while we were waiting for the po-po to show up, and when he took our statements, she didn't dispute me when I said I had a green, so that's what went on the report. He did not give her a ticket for failing to yield, but I have no doubt that she'll be found at fault on the report.
Still, I'm feeling really shaky. So is poor Beastie. He's always been banged up on account of the hail damage, but the dent on his side is much more obvious, and there's some scraping. Aw. :(
( My Christmas wishlist meme. I seriously considered putting superpowers on there. Too bad Mohinder isn't on my flist. )
Also? I saw Milk tonight with Homeboy Phil, and it was really, really good. I highly recommend it. Everyone cheered when it was over.
Now that I'm almost done with school, I want to get back into fandom, with more writing and another shot at the fanvids. And finally finishing the OSSRZQ fanmix. Before Christmas, y'all, I swear. Also? In the next few days I want to post a review of "Veritable Badasses: KleenexCow's Guide To The Top Five Adventure Books That Will Make You Glad For Your Heater." Keep your eyes peeled. I also might post a Bollywood rec post soon, too.

Title: You're Not From Texas (But Texas Wants You Anyway)
Fandom: Heroes (gen)
Category: Fanvid
Summary: If a certain Texas-based Company wants you, they'll get you whatever way they can.
Resources: The song is "You're Not From Texas" by Lyle Lovett, which I got from the Story of Texas IMAX soundtrack. Clips are from the first two seasons of Heroes (with the season one clips coming from the DVD, and season two from the forums at got-heroes.com). I used Audacity for the sound; DVD Shrink, VirtualDub, and MPEG Flask for the clip ripping/converting/editing; and Windows Movie Maker for the final product.
Notes: THIS IS MY FIRST FANVID EVER (so be nice, but concrit and tips for the future are totally cool). HOORAY! And p.s.s. Does anyone know what community this would be appropriate for? Is there a general Heroes vid comm?
